Last week, I wrote about keeping lists to help with your creativity. I am going to expand on that this week with what I call Productive Procrastination.
First off, the dictionary defines procrastination as the act or habit of delaying or putting off things. I have a different way of looking at it.
What is Productive Procrastination? It’s the stuff you play around with that you don’t take seriously. I believe it’s good to have a bunch of projects going at once. The way I look at my projects is this- if I get bored doing one project, I’ll move to the next project. When I get bored with that project, I’ll move to another project. I get to bounce around. And this is when the projects on my list really start to take off. I’ll get ideas from them. Now, if I get really bored, I’ll go for a walk, meditate, read or just stare out the window looking at nature. And then, new ideas come to mind.
So go have fun and take time to play around. You never know where it will lead you.
