I love the location of my house. It abuts a large area of woods which means that I get a lot of wildlife such as rabbits, lots of chipmunks and squirrels, the occasional deer and turkeys. Since it’s the first week in November, I picked this photo of a turkey showing its plumage one early spring afternoon. I’ve been living here for a few years and I while I’d see the occasional plumage, every time I tried to get a photo, I didn’t. This year I was on a mission to get photos. The turkeys are pretty routine around here, so I got to know the times they would come parading out of the woods. And then one day it happened. Staring out my window in the afternoon, I saw the turkeys come out of the woods. I slowly tip-toed up my yard and waited. And then it happened. I was able to capture some beautiful photos of the plumage.
